Project La Shamba
From Mountain Slope to Spa Oasis
We recently teamed up with our client, Naiomi, to begin turning her dream into a reality. Her vision? A spa-like retreat in Albemarle, NC, complete with walking trails, firepits, and an Airbnb.
The Challenge
The land was heavily wooded with a massive 50-degree slope.
The Work:
Clearing the Path
We cleared a 300-foot driveway and the build site, removing stumps and roots. We sent the best timber to the sawmill and mulched the rest to keep the land healthy.
Moving Mountains
Boulders tried to stop us from cutting deep enough, so we pivoted. We hauled 600 tons of fill to raise the build site a staggering 12 feet to create a perfectly level pad.
Managing the Flow
We fixed a failing drainage system by cutting a new ditch line and installing a proper culvert to handle runoff for the whole neighborhood.
Now, the topsoil is spread, the slopes are prepped for planting, and the driveway is ready for the construction crews. We can’t wait to see Naiomi’s dream take shape!
